Senior Citizens
Eastford Seniors meet the first Thursday of every month at the Town Office Building. For further information call Bill Hopkins at (860) 974-3653.
Transfer Station
The Transfer station hours are Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and the Wednesday following Memorial Day to the Wednesday following Labor Day from 3:00-7:00 p.m., all other Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Human Services
The Town of Eastford offers an Emergency Food Bank and Emergency Automobile Fuel Service for families with in the town in times of disaster and times of non-disaster. To acquire these services, you must contact the Selectmen’s office at 974-0133. All contacts are confidential.
A Health Van visits Eastford four to six times every year to provide low cost blood pressure tests, blood sugar screenings and cholesterol tests to the area. For a schedule please contact the Selectmen's Office at 974-0133. The blood sugar screening and the cholesterol tests are $2 each. The blood pressure test is free.
There is a Before and Afterschool Child Care Program in Eastford for your school age children. To obtain information concerning it, please contact Diane Barlow, Director/Head Teacher, or Stacey Leeds, Chair of the Program Planning Committee, at 974-0133.
The Hampton Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program provides financial and technical assistance to improve residential properties. To be eligible for participation, the property must be located in Hampton, Eastford, Chaplin or Scotland. Owner occupants must be within the low and moderate income limits established by the Dept. of Economic and Community Development. Investor owner who have low and moderate income tenants may also qualify.
Building code and serious maintenance problems are the first priority of the program. The scope of the work allowed under the program includes the correction of existing code violations, preventative maintenance, and other reasonable items requested by the owner and approved by program staff. Please call 860-455-0738 on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm for more information.
Public Works
The Eastford Town Garage is open everyday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. If you need to reach the Garage, you can call them at 974-2259.
Recreation Commission
The Recreation Commission in Eastford is a small group that sponsors many family oriented activities. For example, the Halloween Party, a night with Santa, a Hayride, a Valentine's Day Dance and the Mini Marathon during the Heritage Day festivities to name a few.
